Reclaiming Streets for People

Cities are constantly evolving and even the smallest interventions can have a significant impact. Tactical Urbanism projects around the world have shown that underutilised spaces – such as parking lots, street corners and leftover urban areas – can be transformed into vibrant public spaces.

What is DELTA?

DELTA is more than a workshop – it’s a full-immersion experience in Tactical Urbanism. Participants will take part in an ambitious project to reactivate an ordinary parking lot, transforming it into a lively public space. Guided by the ECOL team and with the collaboration of IPER-collettivo, attendees will be actively involved in every stage of the transformation: from understanding the site’s dynamics to engaging with the local community and executing the intervention.

This is not just about painting asphalt: it’s about bringing an idea to life, working hands-on to create a space that truly belongs to the people who use it.

What will I learn?

Participants in the DELTA Workshop will gain hands-on experience in executing a Tactical Urbanism project. They will work on bringing a pre-designed intervention to life, applying the finalised concept to the real-world setting. This means engaging with materials, tools and techniques to transform an existing space, understanding the logistical challenges of urban interventions and collaborating as a team to implement the design effectively.
